The British performer described how she brought film festivals to Nairn in the Scottish Highlands, as reported by the Sunday Star-Times.
She was quoted by the publication as stating: "We made a film festival in a disused bingo hall which I rented in the village where I live and since then we have made two more."
Swinton also explained how she has been involved in projects to raise awareness about homelessness and has previously travelled with a mobile cinema.
