When it comes to my favourite game, I like to make sure that I win – but the reality is, victory often tastes even sweeter when other people benefit from the jackpot too.
This might be the driving force behind Ray O'Brien's efforts.
According to the South Wales Echo, the 66-year-old has made a roaring trade with his charity bingo initiative around his local community.
Mr O'Brien started off in 1985 running a small game to help raise some funds for the church and then to boost cash flow in the Scout troop for which he volunteered.
However, since then the tradition has gone from strength to strength, with Mr O'Brien estimating that he has raised some £100,000 for good causes.
Entrants must pay a small fee and then have the opportunity to get their number up to win prizes such as a television or smaller items.
"I get some playing now who I remember in their prams, when their mothers used to bring them along," he added.
And this isn't the only bingo story to put a smile on my face recently – the Dudley News recently reported that a hall in the area put on a cabaret to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Would you use the jackpot to donate to a worthy cause?
Let me know, bingo fans.
