Some people don’t understand the lure of bingo – but in my eyes, they’re just fans who haven’t played yet
This sentiment might be shared by the supporters who attend the weekly sessions in Piedmont, Alabama.
According to Veronica Kennedy, writing for the Birmingham News, up to 2,000 people fill the hall in order to get their fix of this enjoyable hobby.
Buses and vans transport players in from central Georgia, while others drive in from their nearby homes.
No alcohol is served at the hall, which is open from 14:00 local time until midnight, but there are always plenty of snacks on offer, Ms Kennedy continued.
"Some friends told me about this place and I’ve been on the bus ever since. This is very good bingo," Constance Wilson, who has been attending for three years, said.
Meanwhile, the Express & Star recently reported that a 76-year-old woman scooped £128,000 in a bingo windfall.
Is your local bingo hall this popular?
Line ‘em up, bingo fans.
