As a keen fan of all things bingo, I have seen some pretty amazing bingo-themed events – including fab mother-daughter bingo days, bingo charity days and even a bingo-themed election campaign.
But even I was amazed that a US theatre company is now set to perform a play about my favourite game.
The Spotlight Theatre in Sheboygan, Wisconsin is presenting a production of The Queen of Bingo tomorrow evening (April 10th) and again on April 11th.
According to the Sheboygan Press, the story of the play focuses on two sisters – Sis and Babe – who are best friends and life-long bingo fans. On one particular night, each sister confesses a secret and hilarity ensues.
Who knew there was a stage comedy about bingo? I’m very tempted to jump on a plane and head for US shores to see the production – it sounds like something any true bingo lover would have a blast at!
A touring version of The Queen of Bingo has been described as "a hoot" by the Sacramento News & Review and even involves audience participation at the intermission, where the lucky winner of a bingo game will walk away with a free 10 lb frozen turkey!
