Bingo is a great way to make friends and have fun together – and the best thing about it is that people of all ages can play the game!

A town in New York state has recognised the all-ages appeal of a good game of bingo and is inviting girls between the ages of seven and 12 to join with their mums and grandmothers for an evening of bingo fun.

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported that the event is being put on by the Gates Recreation and Parks Department and promises a night of "girly" activities.

In addition to friendly games of bingo, the girls and their family members will have the chance to paint each others’ nails and create their own unique lip glosses.

I just love this idea – when I was a little girl, an evening of glitter, games and makeup would have sounded too good to pass up!

Family-friendly tea parties are another great way to spend time with mothers and grandmothers – why not try an Alice in Wonderland-themed event?

Last month, the Vancouver Sun suggested a number of tips for throwing a fab fantasy tea party – including mixing and matching cups and saucers and serving up a hot drink from a special-edition tin featuring pictures of the main characters from the new Tim Burton re-telling of the classic tale.

Who would you take with you for a girly evening of tea and bingo?

Keep sipping, tea lovers.
