I’ve often thought that the world could be a better place if everybody sat down and took part in a few friendly games of bingo – and now it seems that a pair of Scottish politicians agree with me!

Bingo fans got the chance to play their favourite game with political representatives this weekend as election fever continues to heat up.

The prime minister is meeting the Queen this morning before returning to Downing Street, where he is expected to officially announce that May 6th will be polling day for UK voters.

But in some parts of the country, the campaigning has already begun.

The Scotsman reported that the Scottish National Party staged a bingo game with voters over the Easter weekend, with Glasgow East MP John Mason and deputy first minister Nicola Sturgeon taking part.

Voters met up with the pair at a Glasgow bingo hall for a friendly game, which was intended to send the message that "Labour’s number is up".

Which candidate would you like to play bingo with?

Keep playing, bingo fans.
