Great news, tea lovers – it is official that Brazilian peppermint tea can work as an effective painkiller.
Brazilian medicine men have been prescribing my favourite drink as a painkiller for everything from headaches to fever for centuries.
Now, the clever folk at Newcastle University have found that peppermint brews can be as effective at healing pain as an aspirin-style drug.
Hurrah! As if we didn’t need another excuse to enjoy our favourite drink.
I bet Hollywood tea fan Demi Moore is thrilled. She’s previously been spotted sipping peppermint tea – maybe regular cups are the way to maintain her youthful good looks?
According to starpulse, Victoria Beckham has also been known to refuse all food and drink on a flight, just opting for peppermint tea that she’d brought along herself.
I’ve heard that drinking a refreshing cup of minty tea after a meal can help to speed up your metabolism.
Is there anything this wonder drink cannot do?
Keep minty,
