Brits are known for loving their tea but now research has shown that it is the most popular drink for van drivers while they work.
Swinton Vans, a UK-based vehicle insurance provider, compiled a study which revealed that van drivers would choose a cup of tea over an alternative drink.
Traditional tea beat herbal varieties and coffee as van drivers’ preferred option.
Phil Moss, a spokesperson for the company, said: "We all make jokes about builders and other tradesmen loving tea, but this survey proves that it’s still the favourite drink for our van drivers."
He added that this was unlikely to change in the future.
Van drivers who choose tea made up 41 per cent of those questioned, beating coffee drinkers by 18 per cent.
The majority of the motorists were also revealed to have a sweet tooth as only 18 per cent did not add any sugar to their drink and 41 per cent had two spoons’ full.
According to rareteacompany.com, the perfect cup of tea can be created with water that is just below boiling temperature.
